Novox is the generic equivalent of Rimadyl.

Novox For Dogs is given for the day-to-day pain of arthritis, joint pain, hip dysplasia and other joint deterioration. It also given to relieve short-term post-operative pain, inflammation and swelling after surgery.

Carprofen reduces inflammation by inhibition of COX-2 and other sources of inflammatory prostaglandins. It does not interfere with COX-1 activity.
